US CA: Shunned by Banks, Legitimate Pot Shops Must Deal in Cash
The News-Item, 30 Nov 2014 - OAKLAND, Calif. (TNS)- The suppliers arrive at one of the nation's largest marijuana dispensaries carrying hundreds of pounds of cannabis in duffel bags, knapsacks and baby diaper totes. They leave with those same carriers stuffed with wads of cash. Harborside Health collects the money from thousands of customers, spending $40 to $60 a pop for one-eighth of an ounce of pot. No credit cards or checks are accepted.

US CA: Marijuana Harvest Brings Seasonal Spike in Home
The Press Democrat, 29 Nov 2014 - Robbers with guns and in search of marijuana have raided at least 11 homes since August in Sonoma and Mendocino counties, leaving a trail of violence in their wake and marking a seasonal trend that officials say is timed with the outdoor pot harvest. The gunmen are also looking for the stockpiles of cash and weapons that are often found where marijuana is grown or processed.
